History and significance of Sawan 2024: In Indian mythology, Sawan's history dates back to the Samudra Manthan, a gathering of devas and asuras searching for the elixir of immortality, or Amrit.

The churning of the ocean gave rise to many things, such as jewels, animals, the Goddess Lakshmi, and Dhanvantri. But all went crazy when the deadly poison halahal showed around.

Everybody who came into contact with it started to be destroyed by it. Consequently, Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu conferred with Lord Shiva. Since Lord Shiva could tolerate this potent poison, they pleaded with him to consume it. The moment he swallowed the toxin, his body became blue.

Goddess Parvati entered the Lord's throat to halt the poison's spread since she was concerned that it would eventually affect his entire body. As a result, Lord Shiva gained the name Neelkanth.

The month of Sawan was when these things happened. As a result, Mondays are dedicated to worshipping Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati for the entire month. Sawan month is considered fortunate by Hindus due to the numerous significant events that fall within this month. Drik Panchang lists a few holidays and fasts to observe: Kamika Ekadashi, Mangala Gauri Vrats, Hariyali Teej, Raksha Bandhan, Narali Purnima, and Kalki Jayanti. Some Shiva devotees travel to sacred locations on the Kanwar Yatra and present Lord Shiva with Gangajal.

Sawan Purnima is observed worshipping Lord Shiva, Maa Parvati, Chandra Dev, Shri Hari Vishnu, and Maa Laxmi. Sawan 2024 puja vidhi and samagri. At-home Satyanarayan Puja is another option. Get up early on this day, take a bath, and gather supplies for the puja, such as Belpatra, incense, a lamp, pure water, flowers, candies, fruits, and more.

Next, worship Maa Parvati and Lord Shiva, and present them with fruits, flowers, and Belpatra. Also, light a diya and incense sticks. Worship Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi afterwards, giving them flowers, cowrie shells, and yellow fruits as offerings. On Sawan Purnima, worship Chandra Dev by singing mantras and offering Arghya after moonrise.
