The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is the premier investigating agency of India. The jurisdiction of the Institute is under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. The CBI was originally set up to investigate corruption. Corruption is rampant in political, government, administrative, state-run and union territory divisions, due to this increasing occupation and problems in the corrupt system, the CBI has expanded its scope to a large extent. The CBI:

(i) the Anti-Corruption Bureau to investigate

The Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018.

For a passionate investigation within the Indian, the sensational and organised crime penal code and other laws are in force, subject to the requests or orders of the state governments, the Supreme Court and the High Courts.

One important thing to note is that the agency does not take cases of robbery, theft, or murder of regular crimes,

Complaints such as bribery or corruption are not charged a specific fee and all such cases are handled more effectively with care.

It covers only complaints against the crime branch or local police, as well as guidelines prepared by state government employees or private citizens.

Central Vigilance Commission, India, CBI does not take cognizance of anonymous / pseudonymous information and complaints.

The informant / complainant, however, is requested to the CBI to keep the identity confidential. The CBI is requested to keep the identity of the accused confidential. The CBI has unearthed a large part of the crimes of corruption and serious crimes on the oral information provided by individuals

The CBI has very well laid out policies for handling such information and providing information which is strictly adhered to.

The officer has been informed. The disclosure of his identity cannot be demanded even by the higher-ups

The information has been provided by the officials. The identity of the person giving such information is never given in writing

This has not been revealed by the court.

All public servants, including state government employees, public servants, political leaders and central government employees can be investigated under the CBI.
