William Shakespeare - What's in a name?
Playwright and poet William Shakespeare ruled the world for
more than 500 years
He was born at Snitterfield in the Avon district of
Warwickshire, although his date of birth is not available, he was baptised on
26 April 1564.
Shakespeare was educated at King's New School in Stratford.
His father was an agriculturist and a businessman. He was an officer in the
Panchayat of Stratford. But by 1577, the situation had changed. They were
stripped of their powers. As a result, Shakespeare's education at the free
school in Stratford was interrupted and he was forced to work.
At the age of 18, Shakespeare married 26-year-old Anne
Hathaway. There is no record of when Shakespeare began writing. However
contemporary records show that many of his plays were on the London stage by
1592. This is borne out by playwright Robert Greene's take on Shakespeare
around the same time. I don't know his business at the moment. From 1585 to
1592 is a completely unknown period in Shakespeare's life.
It is not known what he did during this period. In the year
1592, he came to be known as the new star of the theatre world. In 1593,
Shakespeare is reported to have been in the Lord Chamberlain's Men, a royal
theatrical troupe. Therefore, it is believed that in the previous seven years,
he must have made various nominations in the theatre business.
Based on the ancient (BC) Roman poet Ovid's
"Metamorphoses," the long narrative poem "Venus and
Adonis," "The Rape of Lucrece," and Shakespeare's collection of
one hundred and fifty-four sonnets. Shakespeare's Sonnet (Italian for Sonnet)
is considered one of the most valuable pieces of English literature.
Theatres were closed from 1592 to 1594. During this period,
Shakespeare wrote the most beautiful poems, Venus and Adonis and The Rape of
Lucrece. The theatre reopened in 1594. From then on, Shakespeare's name kept
coming up. At that time he was working in the theatre troupe "Lord
Chamberlain's Men." The company was founded by Ben Johnson, Decker, etc.
There were other actors too.
Shakespeare wrote two plays a year for the company between
1594 and 1603, and these plays were regularly performed in various theatres in
London. It was from this business that Shakespeare's economic glory emerged. He
became a partner of the King's Men. He bought houses and farms in Stratford and
secured his father's position as bailiff of Stratford.
Shakespeare's plays are divided into four categories: the
historical, the tragic, the tragic and the romantic. He created the play
keeping in mind the interest of the audience. In historical dramas, keeping in
mind the curiosity and love of the people of Britain for the royal family and
its people, mainly the history of England was created by showing the
consequences of the feud between the Lancaster and York families and the civil war
between them.
At the same time, the importance of national unity and the
image of the ideal king were artistically demonstrated. Most of the Tudor kings
of England appear in his historical plays. Among them are the fourth, fifth, and sixth Henry II, the third Richard John the King, and some of his immortal portraits.
They reflect Shakespeare's deep and subtle understanding and observation of the
human mind. These dramas created a feeling of national love in the European
countries.
Shakespeare's' Romeo and Juliet 'and' Julius Caesar 'were
very popular. In plays such as Hamlet, Othello, King Lear, Macbeth, and Antony
and Cleopatra, Shakespeare depicted treachery, deceit, vengeance, envy,
adultery, and demonic ambition, as well as great human values, destiny, divine
justice, and the contemplation of death. One of the most famous plays he wrote
was "Romeo and Juliet." Shakespeare wrote this play at the beginning
of his career, based on the love story of a boy and a girl and their tragic
death. The play is still running to this day.
Shakespeare lived in London until 1608. He was awarded the
Royal Medal. He had intimate relationships with contemporary actors James
Burbage, Ben Jonson, and the royal court noble Saudamton, as well as with
playwrights. It was during this period that Shakespeare began to be frequently
referred to as the greatest dramatist and poet on the stage.
At that time, the print version of the play was not
available in the market. Some people started the business of making copies of
these dramas, but there was a lot of defect in the dialogues of such dramas.
Realizing that there was a demand for his plays, he set up a company of his own
and started selling authentic copies of his plays in the market. He also became
a partner in a theatre named Globe Theater and started experimenting with his
own plays. He made a fortune and became one of the wealthiest men in Stratford.
Shakespeare's plays have captivated audiences all over the
world. And it has been translated into many languages. India has known theatre
since ancient times. He had an impact on the Indian theatre scene as well as
the Marathi theatre. His plays in Marathi Govind Ballal Deval brought dramas
like 'Jhunjharrao' on the stage. From the play Romeo and Juliet, "Sangeet
Tara Vilas" (Dattatreya A. Keskar), "Prataprao and Manjula"
(Eknath Musale), "Prema ka Kalash or Romeo Juliet" (Khanderao
Belsare), "Mohan Tara" (K. Prints) "Romeo and Juliet" (K.
The plays "Shashikala and Ratnapal" (Narayan Kanitkar), and "Romeo and Juliet" (Khanderao Belsare) came on the Marathi stage.
Many Marathi writers have written novels based on his
stories. Among them 'Mohan' s Ring '(D. G. Limaye) 2. "Sangeet
Pranayamudra" (Vitthal Sitaram Gurjar) 3. Merchant of Venice (Khanderao

taken.
Shakespeare moved to Stratford in 1610. There the great
dramatist died on 23 April 1616. But Shakespeare's name has become immortal.
