CHILD BENEFIT FROM TWO CHILDREN ONCE, 1961
THURSDAY, JULY 18
State support for families
Your parents receive money from the state that they are supposed to use for you and your siblings (if you have any). This is supposed to enable you to get a good education, for example.
Idea from the Nazi era
Child benefit has existed in Germany since the time of National Socialism. At that time, however, it was not called child benefit, but "child allowance" and was only intended for "Aryan" families.
From 1936, working-class and employee families with a very low income and more than five children received a monthly child allowance, and from 1938 onwards from the third child.

A new law that guaranteed financial aid to families with two children even in the event of low annual income was approved on July 18, 1961, 63 years ago today. In addition, monies were created specifically for child benefits and assigned to distribute the payments.
The child benefit is still provided to all children today. For the first three children, the monthly child benefit is currently 250 euros apiece.
The state is supposed to pay child benefits to children up until the age of 18. Whether the kids are still in school, working as apprentices, or making money on their own, the payments are continuously made.
Child benefit is granted until the child reaches the age of 25 if they are still enrolled in training after turning 18. Child benefit is provided without regard to when it is received if a child's impairment prevents them from earning a living.
