New Delhi, June 24: AAP convener and Delhi Chief Minister
Arvind Kejriwal has moved the Supreme Court against the Delhi High Court's
order on his bail. A vacation bench of Justices Manoj Mishra and SVN Bhat said
on Monday that it will hear Kejriwal's plea on June 26.
We shall, however, await the Delhi High Court's decision.
On March 21, the Enforcement Department (ED) detained Delhi
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in relation to the Delhi liquor scam. A Delhi
court just granted him bail. The Delhi High Court received a motion from the ED
asking for Kejriwal's bail to be revoked. The ED had moved the Delhi High Court
challenging the trial court's order granting bail to Kejriwal. Listen to their
arguments. The plea also sought cancellation of Kejriwal's bail. The Delhi High
Court has already said that it will respond to the petition in two to three
days. The Delhi High Court, however, stayed the trial court order granting bail
to Kejriwal.
Kejriwal had challenged the Delhi High Court's order in the
Supreme Court. We are waiting for the Delhi High Court's order. The top court
also said that it will hear the plea on June 26. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind
Kejriwal has also appealed in the Supreme Court in this regard.
