Britannia's Taratala Factory's Permanent Workers Accept VRS
The company recently notified the stock exchanges that all
permanent employees at the Taratala factory had accepted the VRS.
According to Britannia Industries, every permanent employee
at its Taratala, Kolkata, factory has agreed to participate in the voluntary
retirement plan that was made available to them.
The voluntary retirement plan (VRS) that was extended to all
of the permanent employees at Britannia Industries Limited, a key player in the
FMCG industry, in Taratala, Kolkata, has been accepted.
According to a corporate representative, there won't be any
significant effects on the company's business operations as a result of the
acceptance of VRS by all of the plant's permanent employees.

The land for the Taratala plant, which was leased to the company
more than seven decades ago by the then-Kolkata Port Trust (now Syama Prasad
Mookerjee Port Trust), is one of the oldest biscuit production facilities in
