Modak of Ukdi


tomorrow is going to arrive at his beloved father's house.

If Modak is very dear to Bappa, today we are going to see Modak of Ukadi.


Materials:-


1 desiccated coconut

1 cup jaggery

2-3 cups of rice flour (Basmati / Mango)

1 tsp cardamom powder

1/2 tsp nutmeg powder

1 tbsp ghee

Oil

water


Action:-


1) Boil 2 cups of water in a pot, add 1/2 teaspoon of oil or ghee, then add rice flour and knead the dough gently. Keep the lid on the pot and release the steam

2) On the other side, add 1 tsp of ghee in a pan.

When the ghee melts, add coconut and jaggery to it and cook the mixture on low flame.

3) Turn off the gas once the jaggery melts (make the mixture dry and do not grate the coconut).

Add cardamom and nutmeg powder to it.

4) Take the steamed flour in a pan, after it releases some steam, add a little oil and water and knead it well. (There should not be lumps of flour).

5) Take a medium-sized ball of flour and roll it. Add a spoonful of saran to it make part limes with your finger and close the modal by combining all the limes.

6) Take some water in the modak vessel place a sieve on it and place a cotton cloth or banana leaf on it.

7) Cover the modak patra and steam for 15 minutes.
