As the first musical act at the Paris Olympics 2024 opening ceremony, Lady Gaga had a stunning performance, but it was entirely rehearsed.

The French ballet dancer, actress, and singer Zizi Jeanmaire was honoured with a tribute song, "Mon Truc en Plumes," as the Grammy and Oscar-winning talent began her performance on the stairs beside the Seine River.

Eight dancers, bearing pink feather fans and dressed in custom Dior clothes, brought her to the piano.

Despite not being a French musician, the singer always had a unique bond with the French people. After the show, she wrote on X, "I wanted nothing more than to create a performance that would warm the heart of France, celebrate French art and music, and on such a momentous occasion remind everyone of one of the most magical cities on earth Paris."

An inquiry about the reasoning behind the rehearsed performance was not immediately answered by the singer's representatives.

An Associated Press reporter watched Gaga warm up three hours before the opening ceremony began. After giving a performance that lasted for about an hour, she waved to the audience before leaving.

There were speculations that the singer and actor might make an appearance after she was spotted in Paris, but Gaga's arrival came as a surprise because the media hadn't scheduled her in advance.
