The Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 CPU is designed to compete in the entry-level phone market.

This chipset, according to Qualcomm, will speed up the transition from 4G to 5G.

Xiaomi might have been one of the first businesses to release a smartphone with this feature.

Presently, Snapdragon stands as one of the leading producers of chipsets globally. The latest Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 CPU has been available since then.

Qualcomm claims that this chipset will hasten the transition from 4G to 5G.

The entry-level smartphone market is the target market for the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 CPU. The faster CPU speed of the new chipset enables multitasking and enhances overall performance.

It has dual-band navIC for enhanced AI-enhanced audio, improved location accuracy, and better entertainment experiences.

It encourages fluid gameplay and robust video streaming. Peak download speeds of 1 Gbps will be possible.

"The Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 Mobile Platform is a significant leap forward in making 5G technology more accessible, so more people can navigate the world at 5G speeds," said Chris Patrick, Senior Vice President and General Manager of mobile handsets at Qualcomm Technologies, in remarks regarding the announcement. We were able to combine a long battery life, robust performance, and affordability with ubiquitous 5G access for improved mobile experiences because of state-of-the-art engineering.

One of the first few businesses to release a smartphone using this chipset may be Xiaomi.

By the end of 2024, Xiaomi plans to deliver a smartphone with the previously disclosed Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 CPU.

"With the help of Snapdragon 4s Gen 2, Xiaomi can bring 5G connectivity to a wider audience and help reshape the way the world connects and interacts," said Muralikrishnan B, President of Xiaomi India. "Many people have yet to experience the benefits of 5G."

There is still time before we see a smartphone equipped with this technology.
