International Beer Day
1/8/2024,
Refreshing, sparkling, golden pints are the perfect
combination for good times and cherished memories when shared with friends.
An excellent bar, a welcoming pub or a bustling nightclub are
always reliable stops for anyone wishing to see their city, even briefly. There's always somewhere to enjoy a brewski, whether one is in the
bustling city of Hong Kong, the rural areas of Ireland, the backcountry of
Canada, or even the United Arab Emirates.
Today Beer Day is ideal for those who like those
beverages and honour those who produce them!
To appreciate the craft of brewing, International
Beer Day was first celebrated in the United States, more precisely in Santa
Cruz, California. It was also designed as a homage to all who help in
the beer-making process. Then, the day swiftly grew to encompass bartenders'
and other beer technicians' festivities. Why not involve everyone in this?
Beer Day not only grew in popularity but also in scale. In
just a single year, it started to garner widespread attention and a growing
fanbase.
Between 2007 to the present, when it was first observed in
Santa Cruz, it is observed in 207 cities, 50 nations, and 6 continents
worldwide!
Beer Day is all about unique and varied experiences, thus
it's encouraged people to showcase their different approaches to making and
drinking beer. In addition, there are a variety of dishes and events that are
associated with it, all aimed at commemorating this delightful day of beverage
enjoyment and brewing expertise.
The three reasons listed below are why the founders of Beer
Day decided to launch the event:
to get together and savour a beer with pals.
to honour those in charge of making and serving beer.
To celebrate beer from every country on Earth on one day and
bring the world together under the banner of beer.
How International Beer Day Is Celebrated
Enjoying a great time on International Beer Day is possible!
Try these fun suggestions to make the most of the day:
First, raise a glass to the beer makers.
Most people would agree that toasting those who make this
incredible brew possible with a glass, tankard, bottle, or can is the ideal way
to start enjoying this day. It is not too difficult to locate a location to
have a few beers, be it at a pub, club, bar, or even simply a cookout.
Discover Some Beer Trivia: Especially on Beer Day, a group
of friends can enjoy discussing the unique amusing facts and fascinating
history of beer!
For instance, maybe not many people know that the US
Constitution's 18th Amendment made alcohol illegal in 1919!
Try surprising your friends at the pub on Beer Day by
providing them with these fascinating facts: In honour of the royal marriage of
Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen in 1810,
Munich hosted an Oktoberfest.
• At the Texas State Fair in 2010, Fried Beer won the Most
Creative Fried Food award! (Who knew that beer could be fried?)
In reaction, Winston Churchill referred to the American
Prohibition Act as an "affront to the whole history of mankind".
•More than 100,000 litres of beer were routed through 7 km
of pipe to supply attendees of a heavy metal music festival in Germany, where a
beer pipeline was built. The idea was to prevent beer trucks from tearing up
the festival grounds with their backs to the grass.
Participate in a Beer Day Event
The majority of locations that celebrate Beer Day do so by
pouring fresh or, occasionally, uncommon beers. Some locations might celebrate
by having an all-day happy hour or by holding games and trivia contests with
beer-related prizes!
Gather some responsible pals and introduce people in the
vicinity to the marvels of beer.
Sample Some New Beer
To broaden your horizons, think of serving a beer that isn't
your typical fare in honour of the day. With literally hundreds of different
brands and over 100 different beer styles (and sub-styles) worldwide, there's
always a chance to try something new!
Now is the perfect time of year to try one of these special
varieties of beer:
• Fruits. This beer has a mediaeval flair, with names like
Mugwort and Horehound; aficionados of Tolkien's fantasy world could find it
especially appealing.
Try a few different ones, such as the Belgian Posca Rustica
in Tourpes from Brassier Dupont strong oysters.
founded on urban legends about a purported practice among
some English and New Zealand brewers to add oysters to beer for "healthy
reasons."
• Gose. This one is brewed with salted water from Leipzig,
Germany's ancient brewing adventures, and has a salty flavour. A few brewers,
including Upright Brewing in Portland, Oregon, have started to bring this briny
beer back in style with creative twists.
Give it that much at least, even if it is just a more
ordinary kind of beer you have never tried before. A brewer put in time,
somewhere, at some point, to perfect that beer and sell it to the general
public.
Raise your tankard, tap the kegs, give the employees a gratuity and revel in Beer Day's delight!
