The Edge 50, the third smartphone in Motorola's Edge 50 series, was released today. The smartphone, which retails for Rs 27,999, is equipped with an Accelerated Edition Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chip. I will be contrasting this smartphone with the OnePlus Nord 4, which was also released a few days ago, in this post. The OnePlus Nord 4 is available for purchase for Rs 29,999 at launch. The OnePlus Nord 4 vs. Motorola Edge 50

First, let's talk about the display. The 6.6-inch 1.5K P-OLED display on the Motorola Edge 50 features a maximum brightness of 1600 nits, a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, and compatibility with HDR10+. Gorilla Glass 5 provides additional protection for this display. On the other hand, the 6.74-inch 1.5K AMOLED display on the OnePlus Nord 4 has a peak brightness of 2150 nits, supports 10-bit colour, HDR10+, and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.

 

 

Next, the Motorola Edge 50 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 AE processor, which features 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM. The OnePlus Nord 4 is now powered by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 CPU, which supports up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

 

Based on the most recent version of Android 14, Hello UI powers the Motorola Edge 50. Fortunately, Hello UI closely resembles the stock Android operating system. Conversely, the OxygenOS 14.1, which is likewise built on top of Android 14, is a feature of the OnePlus Nord 4.

 

The Motorola Edge 50 has three cameras: a 10-megapixel telephoto sensor, a 13-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 50-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilisation. Nonetheless, the OnePlus Nord 4's 5500mAh battery allows for 100-watt quick charging.

 

 

Cost and accessibility

In India, the Motorola Edge 50 costs Rs 27,999. But it will come with a Rs. 2000 launch offer on Flipkart on August 8. Conversely, the initial price of the OnePlus Nord 4 was Rs 29,999 upon its debut. On August 2, it will also be available for purchase on OnePlus' official website, with a discount of Rs 2000.
