 Food Culture - Puran karanji

puran karanji

Hello,

Today is the last Thursday of Margashirsha month. On this day an offering of Varana Purana is made to the Goddess. Today we are going to make a sweet dish of Purana which is

puran karanji

Along with this is our 100 recipe for today.

Thank you very much for your generous response.

Let's see the fountains of Purana

Materials:

1 bowl puran

1 cup wheat flour (Janik)

2 tbsp oil

Oil or ghee for frying

A pinch of salt

Action:

1) To make Puran, cook Chandal in a cooker for 4-5 whistles. Once the dal is cooked, drain the water. Amti can be made from this water cut.

2) Take as much jaggery as you have taken for Puran, if you want more sweetness, add 2 teaspoons more jaggery. Add jaggery to the cooked dal while still hot. And stir the pan until it thickens. Add 1/2 tsp cardamom powder and 2 pinch nutmeg powder.

3) Add 2 teaspoons of hot oil to the wheat flour. Add 1 pinch of salt to it. Add water and mix well. Keep the dough covered for 15 minutes.

4) Make 1 inch balls of the dough. Roll the balls and place Puran in the middle. Make karanji by joining the edges. Cut the edges by spinning. The fountains should be covered under a tightly woven cotton cloth. In this way, all the karanjas should be fried in ghee.

Karanjaya tastes good hot. Add a spoonful of thin ghee while rising.
