Results of the 2024 UP election live: By guaranteeing a
concentration of anti-BJP votes, the alliance between the SP and Congress

Smriti Irani, a BJP minister, was falling behind in Amethi by roughly 1,59,240
votes.
In Varanasi, Modi was ahead by more than 1,52,513 votes. In
Kannauj, Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the SP, was ahead by 1,67,822 votes.
Earlier, on Tuesday, June 4, the tally of votes for 80 Lok
Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, a crucial battleground state, began at 8 a.m.
According to the News18 Mega Exit Poll, the Indian National
Developmental Inclusive Alliance, or INDI bloc, was expected to pose a serious
threat to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and
its alliance partners under the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the
crucial battleground state of Uttar Pradesh.
This was two percentage points less than in 2019.In Uttar
Pradesh, voting took place in all seven phases.
Election Commission (EC) statistics show that 8,77,23,028 of
the 15,41,03,670 electors in the state—where polling was performed in all seven
stages of this general election—executed their right to vote.
According to the figures, 4,64,84,215 men and 4,12,38,003
women cast ballots. Election officials released data showing that the polling
percentage for men (56.65) fell 2.08 percentage points in the 2024 Lok Sabha
polls compared to the 2019 results (58.73).
According to the data, there was a 2.73 percentage point
decrease in the women's polling percentage (57.24) this year compared to the
2019 figure (59.97).
The officials also pointed out that 12.97 lakh more women cast ballots in this Lok Sabha election than in the previous one in 2019 and it exceeded 2.04 lakh for men.
Uttar Pradesh: A crucial match between the SP Congress and
the BJP-NDA
The Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), Apna Dal (Sonelal), Nishad
Party, and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party make up the BJP-led NDA. According to
the pre-poll seat-sharing agreement, the BJP fought for 74 seats, the RLD and
Apna Dal are each contesting two seats, and the Nishad Party and Suheldev BSP
are each contesting one seat.
The Indian National Congress (INC or Congress), the All
India Trinamool Congress, and the Samajwadi Party (SP), led by Akhilesh Yadav,
make up the INDI Alliance. AITMC is running for one seat, the Congress Party
for seventeen, and the SP for sixty-two seats.
Important candidates from Uttar Pradesh Among the notable
Lok Sabha seats in the state are Gorakhpur, Modi's Varanasi, Chandauli,
Maharajganj, and Mirzapur, from which Union ministers Mahendra Nath Pandey,
Pankaj Chaudhary, and Anupriya Patel are running. Yogi Adityanath has served as
Uttar Pradesh's chief minister five times.
Afzal Ansari, the brother of the late Mukhtar Ansari, a
mafia don turned politician, is running from Ghazipur, and Neeraj Shekhar, the
son of former prime minister Chandrashekhar, is running from Ballia.
In the fifth phase of the election on May 20, Gandhi ran
from Rae Bareli; in the fourth phase on May 13, the SP fielded Akhilesh Yadav
from Kannauj; and in the third phase on May 7, voting took place from Mainpuri.
Results of the 2019 Lok Sabha election
Defying the challenge of the SP-BSP coalition, the BJP
gained 62 seats and its ally Apna Dal (Sonelal) two seats in the most recent
Lok Sabha elections. With ten seats, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) emerged
victorious from the partnership. Five went to the Samajwadi Party (SP). In
2019, the Congress had only secured the Rae Bareli seat by teaming up with its
INDIA bloc partner SP to fight the polls this time.
