LAFC's Mateusz Bogusz is currently the MLS Player of the Month

The MLS LAFC's Mateusz Bogusz is the June 2024 MLS Player of the Month. He plays midfield.

As the team's main contributor to nine goals (6g/3a) in June, Bogusz was instrumental in leading the LAFC to victory (4W-0L-1D). Bogusz and Cucho Hernández, a midfielder with the Columbus Crew, are tied for the league lead with nine goals in a single month. He is also tied for the league's longest goal contribution streak this season with Luciano Acosta of FC Cincinnati, the current Landon Donovan MLS MVP.

On June 29, Bogusz scored his first-ever MLS hat trick in a 3-0 victory over the Colorado Rapids to cap the month.

In his second full year with the team, the 22-year-old is having a breakout season, tallying five assists and 12 goals in 20 games, including four game-winning goals.

During his current nine-match goal contribution streak, the Polish midfielder has nine goals and four assists, helping LAFC to an unblemished (8W-0L-1D).

As the only other players in LAFC history to have won Player of the Month twice, Denis Bouanga, Adama Diomande, and Carlos Vela, Bogusz scored three goals in back-to-back games against San Jose (2g/1a) and Colorado (3g). The only other Polish players in MLS history to receive this honour are him and Piotr Nowak (May 1998).

Los Angeles FC has 40 points (12W-4L-4D) to top the Western Conference. On Thursday night, they'll take on the LA Galaxy in the Rose Bowl in the next El Tráfico (10:30 pm ET / 7:30 PT | MLS Season Pass).

Through a process managed by MLS Communications, a panel of selected members of the national media selects the MLS Player of the Month.
