Three new criminal laws were implemented, old sections changed, strict attitude was adopted on mob lynching and organized crime

Three new criminal laws came into force in the country from July 1. Unnecessary provisions were removed in the new law. A strict attitude was adopted on mob lynching and organized crime.
Mob lynching is now punishable by death. The old parts have been updated. Jharkhand Police is also ready to implement the new law.
Three new criminal laws will be implemented across the country from July 1: The Indian Evidence Act (BSA) 2023, the Indian Civil Defence Code (BNSS) and the Indian Penal Code. (BNS).
With the implementation of these laws, many things will change. In the new law, the essential provisions of the old law have been kept and those which were unnecessary have been removed.
Section 103 instead of 302 for murder
In the new law, section 302 for murder will be replaced by 103 (1), section 307 for murderous assault will be replaced by 109, section 376 for rape will be replaced by section 64, theft will be replaced by 379 for 303 (2) and a section for cheating has been changed to 316.
Section 354 for molestation of women will now be replaced by 74
Section 354A for molestation of a woman in IPC will now be replaced by 74, section 354A for showing obscene literature, video or film to a woman against her will now be replaced by 75, section 509 for intention to insult a woman will now be replaced by 79.
Changes in sections of kidnapping-related crimes
Section 363 will be replaced by 137B for kidnapping a minor or keeping someone legally necessary with oneself, Section 364 will be replaced by 140 (1) for kidnapping a person to kill him, Section 364 will be replaced by 140 (2) for assaulting a person after kidnapping him, threatening to kill him, Section 365 will be replaced by 140 (3) for kidnapping a child below 10 years of age to usurp his property.
A case under 132 for obstructing government work
In the Indian Penal Code, a case under 132 for obstructing government work will now be filed instead of 353. Cases under 121 (1) for assaulting government employees or policemen will now be filed instead of 322.
Hearing in court under old sections for old cases
Three new criminal laws have come into force in the country from July 1. But in old cases, the trial will continue in the court under the old sections. In the old case, the sentence will be pronounced under the previously determined section.
